Legal & Compliance Counsel EMEA - RPM

As a legal counsel and compliance manager, you will provide legal and compliance guidance, assistance and oversight to RPM operating companies in the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region.

Your legal tasks will be the following:

  • Provide legal support and guidance to RPM International and its subsidiaries
  • Review and negotiate contracts for subsidiaries
  • Assist with application for, administration of and maintenance of intellectual property rights for operating companies
  • Assist with entity management and maintenance, including maintenance preparation and review of required filings for subsidiaries
  • Assist with engagement and oversight of external legal advisors for operating companies
  • Assist operating companies with litigation management
  • Assist with other matters as requested by Operating Group attorneys

Your compliance tasks will be the following:

  • Assist with coordinating and implementing an effective compliance program for operating companies
  • Supervise operating company compliance as requested by Operating Group compliance advisors
  • Conduct risk assessments at operating companies
  • Maintain and administer The Values and Expectations of 168 and operating company Codes of Conduct 
  • Assist with third party due diligence and training
  • Manage Hotline reports in EMEA region
  • Supervise and conduct internal investigations, as required.

You will report to the RPM International Inc. General Counsel based in the US. You will be part of the EMEA team (finance, tax) in Nivelles.

For its European development office, RPM Europe, RPM is looking for a legal counsel and compliance manager.


  • You have obtained a Master in law;
  • You have at least five years relevant experience gained in an international company or international law firm;
  • You have a full command of written and spoken English and Dutch.  You are conversant in French;
  • You have strong communication and advocacy skills. You enjoy giving presentations for larger crowds and you are able to make legal and compliance principles understood in the business;
  • You are business minded and hands-on;
  • You will be part of a nice small team and you are a self-starter who very well can prioritize;
  • You have good legal reflexes and able to translate this to the business.
  • You are a mature and a trusted business partner.


You will work in an international environment and be part of a dynamic and growing company within a small and dynamic team located at one of the subsidiaries, close to the business.

You will have the possibility to travel (mainly in Europe).
